Kigali, the capital of Rwanda, features several historical sites commemorating the 1994 genocide against the Tutsi. The Kigali Genocide Memorial is a key site, serving as a place of remembrance and education with exhibits about the genocide and honoring over 250,000 victims buried there. Other sites include the Nyamata and Ntarama Churches, where thousands were massacred and which now serve as memorials preserving history and artifacts. Additionally, near Nyamata, the Reconciliation Village provides a unique space where former perpetrators and survivors live together, embodying a “village of reconciliation.”
