DETAILED ITINERARY

DAY1: GENOCIDE MEMORIAL & DRIVE TO NORTHERN PROVINCE

On Day 1, our guide will pick you up from your hotel at 9:00 AM. The first stop will be the Kigali Genocide Memorial, an essential site for understanding Rwanda’s recent history. This visit will take approximately two hours. Afterward, we will drive for about 2 hours and 30 minutes to the northern province of Rwanda. The guide will then take you for lunch. Following lunch, you will visit Iby’Iwacu Cultural Village, which offers an immersive experience into traditional Rwandan life. At the village, you can explore the rich heritage of local communities through traditional music and dance performances, craft demonstrations, and interactive cultural activities. The village showcases Rwandan customs, including traditional cooking methods, storytelling, and local rituals, providing a vibrant, hands-on insight into the country’s cultural practices and community life. After this experience, the guide will take you to your hotel where you will spend the night and prepare for the following day’s adventures.

DAY2: GORILLA TREKKING

  • On this day, you will have an early breakfast before our guide picks you up at 6:30 AM and takes you to the Volcanoes National Park reception. You will be welcomed with a cup of coffee, and the park officials will then group you with seven other people for a briefing about the gorilla family you will visit. After the briefing, you will return to the car and drive from the park reception to the park entry, where the trek will begin.
  • The trek may vary in length—short, medium, or long—depending on the location of the assigned gorilla family.
  • Once you encounter the gorillas, you will spend a full hour with them in their natural habitat, observing their interactions as they wrestle, roll around, jump, and occasionally bite or hit each other.
  • this unforgettable experience, you will return to the parking area. Our guide will then drive you to a late lunch. After lunch, you will be driven back to Kigali, where the trip began, marking the end of your 2-day gorilla trekking adventure.
