DETAILED ITINERARY

- At 9:00 AM, our driver-guide will pick you up from the hotel. The first stop will be:
- 9:30 AM – 11:00 AM: Kigali Genocide Memorial. Begin your day with a visit to the Kigali Genocide Memorial, an essential site for understanding Rwanda’s recent history. The memorial offers an insightful and somber look at the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi, with exhibits, survivor testimonies, and a memorial garden.
- 11:30 AM – 12:30 PM: Campaign Against Genocide Museum (Parliament). Next, head to the Campaign Against Genocide Museum located in the Parliament building. This museum provides an overview of the efforts to combat genocide and showcases the resilience of the Rwandan people. It’s a shorter visit compared to the Genocide Memorial but offers a valuable perspective on Rwanda’s political and social recovery.
- 12:45 PM – 2:00 PM: Lunch at Afrika Bite. Experience Rwandan cuisine, which is celebrated for its simplicity, freshness, and flavor. Its uniqueness lies in its harmonious blend of local ingredients and traditional methods, creating comforting, wholesome dishes that reflect the country’s agricultural heritage and communal spirit.
- 2:15 PM – 3:00 PM: After a delicious meal, head to Question Coffee, a short drive from the lunch venue. This café not only offers delicious coffee and tea but also highlights the role of women in Rwanda’s coffee industry. Savor a coffee or tea while supporting an initiative that empowers local women and promotes high-quality Rwandan coffee.
- 3:30 PM – 4:30 PM: Rwanda Museum of Art. Once a presidential palace, the Rwanda Museum of Art now serves as a vibrant showcase for contemporary art from Rwanda and beyond. In the museum’s garden, visitors can view the remains of the presidential jet that crashed on April 6, 1994. This poignant site, left untouched, stands as a testament to a significant moment in Rwandan history.
- 5:00 PM – 5:45 PM: Nyamirambo Car-Free Zone Exploration. End your day with a visit to Nyamirambo, a vibrant district known for its lively streets and cultural diversity.
