At 4:00 AM, a driver-guide from Afri.x will pick you up from your hotel and head to the southwest of Rwanda. Leave Kigali early to maximize your time in Nyungwe. The drive to the park takes approximately 5-6 hours.

• 9:30 AM – Arrival at Nyungwe National Park Entrance: Arrive at the park entrance or the visitor center, where you will meet park officials for a brief briefing about the park.
• 10:00 AM –Waterfall Hike: Upon arriving at the Gisakura reception center, park officials will assign you a guide who will take you on a hike to the waterfall. You can choose between the “Ndambarare” and “Kamiranzovu” waterfall trails based on the park map. The hike generally takes about 2-3 hours and offers beautiful scenery and a refreshing view of the waterfall
• 12:00 PM – Lunch: Enjoy lunch and a cup of coffee at the park restaurant. Afterward, the driver-guide will take you to your next activity.
• 2:00 PM – Canopy Walk: Head to the canopy walk trail. The canopy walk is a thrilling experience offering panoramic views of the rainforest and typically lasts about 1-2 hours. During your walk, you will experience and learn about different types of birds, plants, and the natural environment in general.
• 5:00 PM – Departure from Nyungwe: After your activities are complete, the driver-guide will drive you back to Kigali. Arrive back in Kigali, marking the end of your day trip.
